Monarch Larva Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 09/11/2020

Number: 6

Monarch caterpillars outdoors hosting on giant milkweed. NO pesticide or herbicides. We remove all giant milkweed flowers and place small bit of paper towel to keep milkweed from dripping which attracts ants. The paper wasps stay away without the flower. We also have ant baits about 4 ft from milkweed. And we cut away any yellow leaves or area with aphids and tie up in plastic bags. We place used coffee grounds on ground around base of plant daily and use hand held bug zapper if we see wasp or spider. Now caterpillars are surviving outdoors on plants.
