Robin (OTHER Observations)

Date: 09/17/2020

Number: 2

Today I was very surprised to see a robin fledgling in our large crab apple tree, then eating berries in our Mountain Ash tree. I was able to get a good look with the binoculars so I am certain it was a fledgling. I am quite certain there was a 2nd robin with him/her although I am not 100% positive. I haven't see any other robins in our backyard since August 21, 2020 when I last saw a robin fledgling shaking off on our back deck after taking a bath in our bird bath. Last year (2019), the last time I saw a robin in our backyard before they all disappeared was on August 11, 2019. Could the robins I saw this morning be migrating from further North & headed South? Oddly enough today, shortly after I saw the robins, I also saw 3 dark eyed juncos taking turns in our bird bath & foraging for insects in our garden. Glad we installed bird tape on all our windows. Happy migration all of our lovely backyard birds. Florida is that way (South)!
