Monarch Larva Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 08/31/2020

Number: 12

I planted Tropical milkweed from seeds bought from Walmart. At that time, I didn't know they were Tropical milkweed and not good for monarch butterfly comparing to native milkweed. I know its tropical milkweed because they have orange-red flowers. On Aug 31st, I noticed monarch caterpillars eating leaves. I counted total 11 and after few days I noticed more very little ones. On Sept 14th I noticed first very healthy adult butterfly and later 3 more. I see right now 4 in pupa stage hanging on milkweed.
