I tagged 11 monarchs in my garden. Many hatched late in the afternoon due to a cold front passing through. I observed one female laying eggs on milkweed in the back garden. I observed 2 monarchs wings are damaged from metamorphosis and can't effectively take flight. Several monarchs that flew into my garden I was unable to tag. I observed a total of 15 monarchs, this number was conservative. I was unable to confirm several individual sightings throughout the day as separate butterflies.
