Another new monarch butterfly seen this morning - a male this time (spot on each hind wing)!
First seen 8:30 a.m., barely able to fly a few inches; a bit later, seen climbing up stalk of phlox plant. ~10:15 a.m., he flew West up into top of wild crabapple tree. A few minutes later, he was gone. It was 18.6 C at the time, very little wind.
This is the 5th one of this generation from Rhein, this year! I'm so pleased.
