Hummingbird, Nectaring from Flowers

Date: 09/22/2020

Number: 4

We continue to have visits from at least four male hummers each day but the two males that were intent on guarding the feeders last week have apparently moved on. I did see what I believe was a female yesterday evening. Most of the hummers first nectar at the patch of milkweed next to feeders before checking them out. Within five feet of the feeders is a fig tree, really just a very full fig bush, and the hummers dart between the feeders and tree starting around 5 p.m. each evening.
