Monarch Fall Roost
Sightings report image

Date: 09/22/2020

Number: 117

At the end of an overcast day, with slight drizzle, we counted 84 monarchs roosting in the lower branches of a large hackberry tree, located in a hedgerow in the back of our yard. This was the 4th night in a row to see monarchs roosting there!

Wow! We have had monarchs roosting in the lower branches of a large common hackberry since Saturday evening, Sept. 19. This morning, Sept. 22, we counted 117. The day is overcast with a little drizzle, and it doesn't appear they are leaving today.
