Using website Monarch Waystation #271 reports Sunrise 6:54 am and sunset 7:01 pm today. The daylength here will not reach exactly 12 hours until 9/25/2020 at this location, so today is not technically the Equinox. Signs of fall are the withering of milkweeds on the northside of the house as the sun leaves that bed, while the south side is getting more sun. I've "migrated" potted plants either into the sunny edges of the north beds or to the south patio in response. Monarch and black swallowtail caterpillars are in the yard, and rearing some monarchs to tag and release has kept me busy. Only a hint of hardwood leaves turning color, it's been a very wet season so trees are happy. Temps have stayed out of the 80s since the 15th, a nice break that may not last. Looking forward to "October's bright blue weather."
