Starting late yesterday a second female joined in at the feeder, a bit shy. But our more tame female was there. At dusk she did something that happens every year right before the birds head south. As I sat there, she came up to me, quite close at I level, and hovered there as I spoke softly. It feels like a desire to communicate on her part. This morning I see one hummingbird that looks like her.
