From just 4 or 5 feet away, I watched a hummingbird visit dozens of flowers on a large Monrovia Salvia "Purple and Bloom," then switch to Salvia microphylla "Hot Lips," which had been visited previously by at least two hummingbirds (even at one point not fighting while nectaring less than a foot apart).
At other points, there was a hummingbird nectaring on a brassica that grew from dropped birdseed, and a hummingbird briefly visited Salvia "Skyscraper."
