I walked across our road to check the golden rod and aster field for Monarchs and to check on the status of the field flowers.

It was around 4PM, breezy, mostly cloudy and a balmy 70 degrees or higher.

Golden rod is starting to dry up and fade in color. But there are a still few fresh ones.

The Asters are still in peak condition.

I did not see any monarchs, but I sure did see a lot of buzzing honey bees, collecting nectar and pollen.
