After an all day rain yesterday, I was able to observe 19 monarchs migrating south along the Lake Huron beach at Harrisville State Park in four hours. Here are the hour by hour counts:
12:30 to 1:30 PM - 5.
1:30 to 2:30 PM - 7.
2:30 to 3:30 PM - 3.
3:30 to 4:30 PM - 4.
No monarchs were seen the last 33 minutes of the count.
My friend (Larry) observed 2 monarchs just after 1 PM. One was near his house just NW of town, and the other was seen at the 3rd Street walkway in town. Weather was mostly sunny with the Wind SW-11-15 mph. The Temperature was 59F. at the start of the count, and 62F. at the end of the count. The high topped out at 63F. at 5 PM.
