Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 09/29/2020

Number: 5

Monarchs nectaring on. blazing star, mexican sunflower, and zinnias.
A few more monarchs around today.
Mostly sunny, temperatures in mid 70s, light wind.
My hypothesis is that these are later monarchs migrating through the area. I think the peak migration has already passed through at least a month ago. Brownfield, ME is near the NH White Mountains. I think maybe the peak of monarchs migrating through the area must be right around the mountains where Monarchs can catch the wind thermals and glide over the mountains.
