Small groups of Monarchs travelling through to the S-SW today. Definitely PEAK migration. Same time as the past few years. Expect to see many more in the coming week.
Observed over about thirty minutes.
The highest was flying about 100 feet up but most were at five to twenty feet high. Having said that our house is on the highest ridge in the Shenandoah valley at about 2000 feet altitude,
