A correction to my hummingbird farewell story on 10/1 when I reported our birds had departed. Toward dusk while I was sitting outside, our rather tame female came back to the feeder one more time and then flew down to hover for 30 seconds in front of my face. Enough time for a goodbye. There are no hummingbirds at all today.
