Noticed these beautiful creatures massing on the pine trees out here in the NJ Pine Barrens marshland late in the afternoon yesterday. My neighbor, who has a nice garden with butterfly-friendly plants, had a good roost last night as the sun went down of about 50 or so. On the other side (of our house) it was a smaller roost in 2 - 3 pines, maybe 30 or so. I have better video than photos!
