After two days of no hummingbird sightings at our feeders this plump little female gem suddenly appeared at one of our three still hanging feeders. Fortunately, for us it happen to be the highly visible feeder at our dining room bow window. She appeared at 5:47pm with the temperature being 53 degrees (the high temp for the day), winds were out of the WNW with cloudy overcast skies. With overnight temperatures expected to be 37 degrees, we expected she would fuel up and move on quickly southward instead of hanging around over night. We were correct for after several minutes drinking and resting she departed southward. Again, we reset the clock for our hummer feeders remaining hanging and kept fresh for two weeks from this date.
