I saw 2 monarchs in the garden today. One in the morning and another about 3 PM this afternoon. The southwest wind became strong and gusty in the afternoon, and the monarch I watched was having a very difficult time fighting to make any headway against the wind. Tomorrow is also forecast to be quite windy from the southwest. We have not had a frost yet, so there are still blooms from zinnias, verbena bonariensis and gallardia.
