5:15 to 5:40 pm, 1 monarch was seen flying west on our property until it rested in an oak tree. At the time, the temperature was 81 with a 12 mph SW wind. However, it was much calmer in the protected area where the monarch was flying. In the morning, no monarchs were observed. Observations were not made in the afternoon. My release of 9 captive reared monarchs did not occur until after the monarch was observed.
