The caterpillar that I reported finding on 9/15 and that formed a chrysalis on 10/6 just eclosed this afternoon, unfortunately on a rainy day. I'm not sure what to do because it is not going above 60 degrees again until 11/1 and then it won't go above 60 degrees until 11/4, but then it is predicted to stay above 60 degrees for several days. It doesn't look like temps will drop below freezing during that time, so I don't know if I should try holding it until 11/4 and try feeding it during that time, if it will eat in the cold. Another option is driving south for two hours but I don't know if that will disorient it. If anyone has suggestions, I would love to hear from you.
