Have been hearing bird calls at night of late. This evening, at about 11:00pm, I came outside and heard a lone bird chirping. I went to the tree and saw one Robin sitting in a winter, leafless tree. It began to make, what I can only presume, was a mating call. I was amazed as I have lived in western Washington over 30 years and this is my first experience of any type of bird at night, aside from the occasional owl. I had to look it up on line because, I like most people, couldn't imagine it was a Robin, since winter has just started. But, plain as day, I could see it was definitely a Robin. I'm glad to be able to share my experience, since I didn't have my phone with me. Such a beautiful song it sang.
