Sightings report image

Date: 01/01/2021

Number: 12

In Bay St. louis we have a year round population, but it seems Zeta displaced them, that, or they went on the move after Zeta, as a female Monarch stopped by and laid eggs on my plants 5 miles inland during Thanksgiving week. I brought most of the laid plants to our community garden butterfly house and kept some at home under plastic enclosure. Well, the bunch in the butterfly house slowly but steadily grew and now I have 1 in chrysalis and one in J. The outdoor covered caterpillars are much smaller like 2nd or 3rd instar but seem fine and today I am moving them to the butterfly house as I'm starting to see predators (chameleons) now that we have warmer weather. I have more pictures, I have been documenting all along.
