Monarch Egg Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 01/03/2021

Number: 80

My winter seedlings were covered with eggs and 1st instars. I moved as many as I could to larger plants to save my seedlings. I now have many, many large caterpillars and some are going into chrysalis. I covered some of the plants, and left some open. Even though the seedlings were mostly kept indoors, the short time spent in the sun apparently attracted some females...I never actually saw the butterflies laying eggs. (The date may not be exact, but it was early January. I also have 3 containers in my house with some caterpillars from the same group)
