Beautiful Male Anna hummingbird 2 miles East of Cliffdell Were about mile post 97 on HY 410 about 30 miles west of Yakima in the Cascade mountains. Last Anna's left around Dec 21st. We have never seen hummingbirds in February in our area. First spotted him on Saturday and he has been feeding all Sunday morning. very concerned that this next week high temp. will only be 17 and the low 5 we do have a heated feeder. this is the first time we have seen an Anna hummingbird in the beginning of the year. We just started observing them the last 2 years after all the rufous have left in the Fall. They ARE expanding their territory.
