Monarch Larva Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 02/07/2021

Number: 2

This is one of two first (very small) monarch caterpillars I see in my butterfly garden. I'm surprised these little guys are here because the past two weeks it has been much colder than normal (no frost) and early this morning we had a hard rain. I checked very quickly other patches of milkweed and counted a few eggs, but I was very quick and didn't get to all the milkweed. The last cats I saw was in November, 2020.
