All the robins were struggling in our sub zero temps. They were trying to rest briefly, but then would take off, flying for a while, but then would come back and try to rest again. All of them puffed out their feathers, and were breathing so hard. I observed this behavior mostly the one day where the wind chill factor was -31. Very difficult to watch.
