Robin (WAVE seen)
Sightings report image

Date: 02/18/2021

Number: 12

We have two resident Robins we see daily, one male and one female - she is very large and territorial with a distinctive black pompadour cap - we call her Fat Elvis. She is usually at our front feeders, flower beds and bird bath. Today though we also had a flock of 12 robins swarm our feeders and heated bird bath about 4pm on the 5th day of the winter storms with 7 consecutive days entirely below freezing and 11 inches of snow. They went after the mealworms and raisins. We also have waves of common grackles and European starlings but this was the largest wave of robins we have seen.
