Robin (WAVE seen)

Date: 02/17/2021

Number: 1

Heard my first robin call early the other morning, frozen out as it was. Upon inspection I found around 15, all just waking up and getting on the move in search of food. There is a gigantic sumac patch around 100 feet from my backyard, and they seemed to be heading over that way. Each day since, they move from tree to tree, grouping up as they go, and move over into that spot. It's large, and has good cover from the cold and predators. Loaded with fruit for them and many other species. So good to see them. I confess to feeling weird saying "Hello, guys!!" to them right out loud! But then, I do that every year. I think this may be my earliest sighting of them, and certainly so in flocks.
