Date: 02/15/2021

Number: 1

Looked out my kitchen window of our new home during huge snow event last week and saw tree in my backyard filled with robins. They were drawn to my neighbors suet feeders and bird bath. Saw them hopping around my backyard for several days while we had a foot of snow on the ground. Toured the area around my tree today after the snow was almost gone and it looks like they had been feasting on red berries because the tree (not sure exactly what species of tree) but it was picked over and stripped of berries, just a few single berries left on ground. The leaves of tree and ground underneath tree was was covered in white bird droppings. I'm new to bird watching but really enjoyed witnessing the Robins lively feast and look forward to learning more about all the plants
and birds in our garden after our move to Texas late last summer. When we arrived in August, I was thrilled to see huge numbers of hummingbirds visiting our shared backyard fence with next door neighbor. He has planted lush feathery Cypress Vines mixed with Honey suckle all along the chain link fence we share. I loved watching the hummers feed through my kitchen window as I stood washing dishes every day!
