Between Jan.8-16, I tagged and released 13 adults- 8 males and 5 females. The tags are from Southwest Monarch Study. In early December, I had collected them as 5th instars from milkweed in my yard and moved them to a protective rearing cage on my patio. I released them to blooming nectar plants in my yard. The weekly daytime temperatures ranged from the 50's in the morning to sometimes 70 degrees in the afternoon.
