Robin (First SEEN)

Date: 02/24/2021

Number: 6

Greensboro Day School 4th graders are at in again!

Today we journeyed to our school pond and saw a myriad of things, making note of all that we saw.

It was a beautiful Spring day in NC with temps between 65 and 70 degrees. The students saw at least six robins in addition to two bird nests, one woodpecker, several red tailed hawks and a few (what looked like) turkey vultures from a distance. There were five ducks in the pond and many tadpoles in the water.

We believe that more robins were seen today than yesterday, due to the observation that more habitat was available to them (more trees, fallen logs).
