Between Feb.9-16, I tagged and released 9 adult monarchs- 5 males and 4 females. The tags are from Southwest Monarch Study. In January, I had collected them as 5th instars from milkweed in my yard and moved them to a protective rearing cage on my patio. I released them to blooming nectar plants in my yard in Tempe, AZ. The weekly daytime temperatures ranged from the low 50's in the morning to mid-70s in the afternoon.
