Saturday at noon, there was a small flock of 24 red-winged blackbirds in the tops of our trees. I heard them calling to each other: gurr-ga-lee, gurr-ga-lee! It was a sunny day with a 7 mph southerly wind and 51 F. Some snow left, but rapidly melting.
