March 3 was a fairly warm day in Guadalupe River State Park. Observed a few different butterfly species along the Hofheinz trail. On the return walk to the parking area in the Bauer Unit of the park I spotted one monarch flying overhead! Could not tell if it was a male or female. Very exciting to see a monarch this early in the season!
