Red-winged Blackbird (FIRST sighted)

Date: 03/11/2021

Number: 1

SUBMITTED BY DON DAVIS: Strong southerly winds and warm temperatures brought new migrants into Ontario. Ron Tozer, retired naturalist, Algonquin Provincial Park, reports: "The male Red-winged Blackbird was seen by Kevin Clute (staff member of The Friends of Algonquin Park) via the Visitor Centre webcam as it fed on seed provided on the feeder off the Visitor Centre viewing deck at 7 am on March 11. So, this was a virtual observation. How fitting in the era of the pandemic." Link to the webcam: https://www.algonquinpark.on.ca/virtual/webcam/wild_bird_cam.php
