Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)
Sightings report image

Date: 03/12/2021

Number: 1

Very glad to see a lovely monarch today ~ the first of this season! He nectared from our pear tree which is just now in full bloom. Sometimes he flew around low back and forth across the pastures seeming to look for other monarchs. He also nectared a little from false garlic flowers (Nothoscordum bivalve).

I reported our first small milkweed (Asclepias viridis) sprouts only yesterday, so there currently is not much milkweed, but some is available if a female monarch arrives ~ and more soon to emerge.
