On March 17, Altus and I went on a milkweed and monarch safari 8 miles southwest of Port Lavaca, where we counted for 25 years. The photos that Altus took show Asclepias
viridis, a native milkweed with good growth., plus some o
false Garlic that the monarchs were nectaring on. There was an abundance of the FG in the roadside ditches and in yards in town. In less than an hour we had confirmed with each other 41 monarchs.
