I saw this female Monarch nectaring on henbit deadnettle in the setting sun yesterday. I've never seen a Monarch in this area nectar on that plant before now. I've seen this plant occasionally thru the years but this year it seems to be more prevalent. Still a limited amount of blooming plants in our area.The prairie verbena is beginning to bloom in a few locations, no thistle blooms, and no lantana blooms.
