Beautiful day today after getting 1/4" of rain overnight. 85 degrees and sunny today. I saw 6 Monarchs across 3 different locations today in about 3 hours. This female surprised me while I was checking a field near our house for eggs and milkweed growth. She was flying about knee high in the light breeze looking for milkweed. She was dodging the old plant stalks and zooming down to the next asperula plant like a naval aviator. Finally milkweed visible and easy to get to for ovipositing.
