First female monarch visited my potted tropical milkweed that was brought out from the greenhouse a few days ago when the weather warmed-it was about 5:30 PM with southwesterly winds at about 7 mph and around 75°. She was large but not faded appreciably and was quite intact. She laid quite a few eggs which I have collected to see if they are viable. None of our common milkweed or swamp milkweed has emerged. We had a freeze last week.
