Saw FIRST milkweeds on 3/24/21 this year, though I’ve been LOOKING since a week or so after the BIG BREEZE in TX, seeing what survived.
Have been walking the same roadside locations I’ve watched since spring of 1981, and watching it slowly but steadily spread in new locations year by year.
AT LAST, 3/24/21, THERE IT IS!! Have been checking twice each week, but mow finding numerous 3in sprigs from OLD, well established places! Saw a FEW a little larger, and these were in a few scattered places, BUT HERE, awake and GROWING QUICKLY!! I’m sure it has spurted out more since last Wed!! Will look again soon.
