Milkweed Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 03/29/2021

Number: 1

SW Austin Monarch waystation 78739 backyard. This area is part shade and typically dry.

Milkweed is the desert narrow leaf linaria type. This is the largest one I have in the bed at less than 4 inches.

Many new seedlings that existed last year in the bed are not coming back at all, at least at this time. They may have been speciosa, which is not native.

See my other picture submissions for comments on Austin freeze, dryness, and lack of nectar in the area.
