SPRING PEEPERS SINGING! 1st of Season. At 540am standing in our driveway, they are singing to the West of our yard in the deep road ditch that has water in it and is an Annual Vernal Pool water source for them. Heard several at first, then they stopped, then heard 3 to 5 distinct loud individuals. 47°, overcast, wind from the East 10kph. No snow on ground, all snow is gone. We are dry this year, Fire Danger dry. No vegetation growth yet, no flower bulbs have broken soil yet either. Butterflies are flying.
