Milkweed (FIRST sighted)
Sightings report image

Date: 04/11/2021

Number: 1

Monarch Waystation #271 reports seeing the first common milkweed sprouts emerging from the edge of the north bed. It had been hidden by the basal leaves of another plant, either winecups or buttercup, and finally broke through after warm temperatures and sunlight worked on that end of the yard in the last week. Tallest stalk in this photo measured by my "thumbs up" fist =~5.5 inches above ground level. Come and get it, mama monarchs!
