Monarch Egg (FIRST sighted)
Sightings report image

Date: 04/12/2021

Number: 35

Saw a very tattered female Monday afternoon in Old Fort NC laying eggs mostly on a single milkweed plant. She laid around 30 eggs on one plant that is about 8 inches tall and another 5 or 6 on smaller nearby plants. I have never seen one lay so many on one plant. This is also the first monarch of the season I've seen in our area.
