Having just seen first-of-the-year Monarchs at two locations in NW Georgia yesterday, a very faded (but wings in great shape!) female showed up in our yard today and laid eggs on MANY of our milkweed plants. She then nectared on my dianthus and lemon tree blossoms. Spring sightings are rare here and to have her laying eggs in April was very exciting. Is it possible that Monarchs are pushed eastward this Spring due to the late snow storms and killing frosts in Texas??
