Hummingbird, Ruby-throated (FIRST)

Date: 04/20/2021

Number: 1

One small hummingbird at 8:45 AM. I was truly surprised to see a small ruby-throated hummingbird fly to the pear tree! I did NOT put out my feeders today (as I had for the previous 2 weeks) because weather is turning colder and I have not seen any hummers. The feeder is back out now.
45 degrees, cloudy, impending snow predicted for overnight and tomorrow. Fruit trees are budding, and blossoming, but the one near me was only beginning to blossom.

CATS: I wish people would be responsible and keep their own CATS at home. We have too many feral cats around that hunt our yards! The same cats remain outside ALL day long. No, they do not need that much food, Birds are only entertainment at this point but drastically are diminishing the count of most birds and migratory species.
For the safety of the birds, be a RESPONSIBLE pet owner!
