This is a photo of a female monarch as she is resting and sunbathing this morning. It was around 9:30am and 65 degrees F, partly cloudy, with 89% humidity. I followed her a bit as she fluttered low looking for good milkweed to lay her eggs on. She rested a lot and as in the photo sunbathed to warm up in the cool morning air. There were other monarchs about in the morning and continuing all day as it warmed up into the mid-80's by late afternoon.
