Monarch Adult Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 04/13/2021

Number: 15

Today I saw another fresh-winged monarch. He did a lot of nectaring, sunning, and flying around exploring. He was quite a contrast to the long-journeyed elder monarchs with their worn and tattery wings.

It was a cloudy, warm, humid day, with gentle breezes. It would lightly rain in the evening.

I continued to see the usual monarch activity: nectaring, sunning, males patrolling & looking for females, and a few females laying eggs.
I also continue to find eggs and larvae of all stages on the milkweed.

This is a photo of the fresh-winged male monarch as he rests on milkweed flowers.
