Amazingly, he was right on schedule. Here are the dates of our 1st sightings of a Ruby Throated Hummingbird in Bloomington, Indiana for the last nine years; April 22, 2021, April 21, 2020, April 23, 2019, April 22, 2018, April 19, 2017, April 20, 2016, April 21, 2015, April 15, 2014 (a lunar eclipse also occurred on this date), April 20, 2013. In summary, here are the dates in April of our first sightings; 15th, 19th, 20th (2), 21st (2), 22nd (2) and 23rd. This year, to get ready for our first sighting, we put up our feeders on April 1st and set up our cameras on tripods on April 18th.
